We have been very pleased. It has held up very well and most importantly given our son the confidence he needed to hit during his baseball games. An extra bonus is that he was able to practice grounders and fly balls with it too. I would highly recommend this pitching machine for those just learning or those with the ability but not consistently hitting. It makes a huge difference. The only downfall was when he started hitting the home runs from the machine pitches, there was a lot more running for me to chase the balls down. As a result, it's hard for the batter to know where to stand. I suppose you could stand 3-6 feet (instead of 10 to 15 feet) away from the machine and have greater success, but that would make it difficult for a 5 or 6 year old to react quickly enough to hit the ball.The machine can be set to throw pop-flys and my son had fun catching those. Unfortunately, he lost interest in the pitching machine within two weeks. Also, I bought this unit for use with Softball batting practice, and the unit is not big enough to handle softballs. other than that, it's tough, runs on batteries, and does well for just getting your swing down. |
